Google AdWords adds Goals in the Opportunities Tab
By: Jon Stroz 06/29/2010

For advertisers looking for a shortcut to switch up their Google AdWords campaign, a new feature has just been released in the Opportunities tab; goals allow users to make simple changes to their campaign without investing a lot of effort.

The new feature gives users several options to change their campaigns:
  • Maintain or Decrease Cost – Identify ideas that might help you maintain or decrease your current spend.
  • Increase Traffic – Identify ideas that can help you get more traffic at varying cost levels.
  • Balance Cost and Traffic – Review a mix of ideas that are aimed at either increasing traffic or decreasing costs.

This is what you can expect to see when you go through the process:

Google Adds a new feature, "Goals," to the Opportunities Tab

While this may be a quick fix for advertisers, it doesn’t take the place of diligently working to optimize your campaign through updating keywords, optimizing Ads, and monitoring click through rates and conversions.

For more information on this new feature, you can check out the information on the Google Inside AdWords Blog.
