eCommerce Website Development

Accella helps companies and organizations develop eCommerce sites and portals for both B2B and B2C marketplaces.  We are actually quite flexible in our approach to how we design, build and integrate eCommerce sites.  No two companies sell their products and services the exact same way, so we listen to our client’s specific needs and requirements and then build an eCommerce site that best accommodates those needs.

That can include building an eCommerce site using an open-source CMS, integrating a third party eCommerce package, or developing a store from scratch.  The approach that we take depends upon our clients specific needs including timeframe, scope, budget, audience, and number of products they plan on carrying.

Why build one yourself?

So why would you design an eCommerce site from the group up instead of incorporating a third-party application or using an OpenSource CMS?

Well, each option has their specific advantages and disadvantages.  An off-the-shelf application promises to work right out of the box, and in most cases it will.  However customization can come at a hefty price tag if available at all.  You are also reliant upon that company to make updates and continue to improve the software to remain up-to-date on the latest technological advances.

For Open-Source applications there is still quite a bit of development involved in order to have your site up and running.  While the framework may be there, you will still to need to integrate a database, design the storefront, and make sure that the site functions properly and accurately.  Though using an OpenSource CMS has many advantages when developing an eCommerce site due to the speed, functionality, and ability to make frequent changes, at times designing a custom store using static pages may be the better option.

We would be happy to discuss in more depth which option would work best for you and your application.

What about Payment Portals?

Payment portals allow companies to accept payment online, this can greatly reduce the time it takes for accounts receivable to accept payment.

Customers can pay online by:
  • Credit card
  • Wire transfer
  • Electronic check
  • Payment Portals
  • Authorize.net
  • PayPal

Setting up an online payment portal is an inexpensive, efficient way to reduce the time it takes for clients to pay.
