CTR Print / E-Commerce Print Solution
CTR Print is a full service commercial printing company that was looking for an avenue to build sales through the web. They had been successful at driving leads to their static website and were looking to take their site to the next level by adding the ability for customers to purchase products directly from their site.
Based on their requirements, we decided to build a custom application that used Authorize.NET as the payment processor. The complexity of the site came in the form of an instant pricing calculator that allowed the customer to modify attributes of their purchase and see the cost changes on the fly. This included connecting to the FedEx API to calculate real time shipping costs and handling a variety of products such as brochures, cards, and calendars all through a database driven environment.

Because this was CTR’s first attempt to sell online, budget constraints were an issue as they wanted to get a sense of customer demand before building out their full feature set. There needed to be collaboration on the part of CTR and Accella to build a set of requirements that delivered the necessary functionality for a solid user experience while cutting out extraneous details that would not add to immediate sales.
