About Volvo Rents Construction Equipment

Volvo Construction Equipment Rents (Volvo Rents) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), a major international company developing, manufacturing, and marketing equipment for the construction and related industries. Its products, leaders in many world markets, include a comprehensive range of wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, articulated haulers, motor graders, soil and asphalt compactors, pavers, milling machines, compact wheel loaders and excavators, and skid steer and backhoe loaders.

About the Project

Volvo Rents approached Accella wanting to put together a comprehensive website which listed all of their franchise locations and products. They are a specialist in renting construction equipment to contractors, part of their goal was not only to make it easier for contractors to find equipment and locations, but also help the Do-It-Yourselfer find equipment to rent for the weekend.

By posting their product data online, they plan on increasing natural search traffic through optimized pages using proper meta tags, as well as having content on their site which could be easily indexed by the main search engines. The site’s success was going to be measured through leads it could generate through online forms and incoming phone calls.

A main component of the site was to also unify the brand message that Volvo Rents Franchise owners were sharing with the public. While each franchise is individually owned and operated, Volvo Rents corporate offices wanted to make sure that the message being shared with the public was a unified message. This site needed to provide that.

What Did Accella Do?

Accella designed a site and developed it in Drupal 6. All work performed on the site was done with SEO in mind in an effort to drive traffic to the site and generate leads.

The three main components of the site are:

• Equipment Database: The equipment database that Volvo Rents has on their website is one of the most comprehensive on the web. By having a large database of information they are able to increase the visibility they have with search engines on everything from Backhoes to Concrete Saws.
• Individual Franchise Pages: Franchise owners can easily update their pages through a Drupal backend. They can post contact information, deals and specials, as well as information specific to their individual location.
• Expert Advice Area: The expert advice area is a blog section of their site where Volvo Rents can post how to information, news and updates on equipment, and general construction industry information.

Each of these three main sections was developed in way to increase search engine exposure while also enhancing the user experience.

As a result of launching their new website, Volvo Rents has increased the amount of leads they generate on a daily basis through both the online form and incoming phone calls.
