Corporate Training and Productivity In The Mobile Revolution

Mobile Devices
The mobile revolution has been rolling forward now for over four years.  It’s hard to believe that what began as a few apps on one platform has bloomed to upwards of 2 million apps on multiple platforms.

One of the more exciting trends I see that is not talked much about is the development of mobile applications to be used for productivity and training within a corporation.

The use of mobile phone and tablet technology can give your sales force or field staff access to critical information that might not have been available before.  Accounting information, customer orders, current inventory, shipping, receiving, sales tracking, certification and training can be custom programmed to provide the most updated information for your employees around the globe.

The training aspect of using mobile tablets and smartphones is gaining quite a bit of momentum.   Many companies require certification and testing for their employee base multiple times per year.  Android and Apple tablets have become as commonplace in the corporate environment as IBM typewriters once were.

Now employees and clients can use tablet and smartphone technology to reinforce or certify their training while at home, on business travel or in any other mobile environment.  We can even go so far as issuing electronic certificates of completion or confirmation of the training to an administrator.

Tools like these not only create economies of efficiency within a company but also helps save on the cost and environmental impact of printing study and training materials. The next time your thinking of improving an internal process within your company or organization try digitizing and streamlining that process with smartphone or tablet technology.
